Bouillotte Lamp – Lamps Neoclassical Furniture

Used on writing desks today, the Bouillotte table lamp is named for a French card game, Bouillotte, that was very popular during the late 1700s. Originally candle burning lamps, the adjustable shade was important as the flames burned lower during play, and the dish of the base would hold the game chips. This Louis XVI style version is electric, of course, but has all of the features the originals were known for, including three faux wax candlesticks under the tole shade, with a pierced edge on the dish for added visual interest.
