Antique French Empire Ormolu Figural Mantel Clock – Antique Clocks Neoclassical Furniture

This stunning ormolu clock is styled in typical fashion for the French Empire period, with strong influences of Classicism and Egyptian Revivalism, complete with a figure, lightly draped in fabric, playing a harp. An urn topped with a laurel wreath is set upon the block he leans against, holding the clock face encircled with flora and embellished with garland. All set upon a rectangular form plinth with four claw feet and a step decorated with an egg and dart pattern. A relief panel to the front depicts a classical scene surrounded by acanthus and laurel leaves, flowers, and scrolls.
